Who we are

A specialist firm for the most demanding side of the airport.

While the giants spread across every market, LEAN goes deep on one: the electrical and navigational systems of active airfields. That focus — paired with a small, senior, jack-of-all-trades team — lets us move fast, phase work around live operations, and deliver a design that gets built.

Since 2003 we've served as prime consultant and Electrical Engineer of Record on airfield lighting, NAVAIDs, substations, and power distribution at many of the busiest airports in the U.S. and Canada — from as-needed on-call support to the largest airfield electrical program an airport has undertaken in decades.

Full-spectrum airfield electrical engineering, under one roof.

From the vault to the runway edge to the approach — nine tightly-integrated disciplines, delivered by one senior team that understands how they connect.

01

NAVAIDs, Radar & GBAS

ILS, ALSF, glideslope, localizer, and ground-based augmentation systems.

02

Airfield Lighting, Power & Control

Edge, centerline, and taxiway lighting with ALCS constant-current regulation.

03

Approach Lighting Systems

MALSR, ALSF-2, PAPI/REIL design, siting, and photometric commissioning.

04

Substation & Power System Design

Medium-voltage feeders, vaults, distribution, and standby/emergency power.

05

Airspace & Flight Operations

Instrument flight procedures, obstruction analysis, and airspace studies.

06

Photometric Testing & Commissioning

Field measurement and verification of airfield lighting to FAA tolerances.

07

Energy & Feasibility Studies

Why teams choose LEAN

Big-firm capability. Boutique responsiveness.

Senior people, every phase

Principal engineers do the work — not just the pitch. Your PM & EOR stay on the project start to finish.

Fast where it counts

A lean structure means fewer handoffs, quicker turnarounds, and a real person answering the phone.

Constructible by design

We design for how it actually gets built and energized — with phasing that protects live operations.

A certified diversity partner

Women/Minority & Small Business Enterprise certified — real credit toward your DBE participation goals.

Deep specialty bench

NAVAIDs, photometrics, ALCS, airspace — niche expertise most generalist firms subcontract out.

A trusted teaming partner

Primes bring us on for the airfield electrical scope they can't afford to get wrong.
